It is our policy and goal at LightHouse Hosting to provide our Email users with the latest tools available to fight the ever growing SPAM problem. We cannot force you to use the tools we provide however if you do not take the time to try to use these features you are not helping resolve the SPAM problem and in fact, your accepting the problem which will never result in a change in the way the systems operate.
There are no perfect SPAM systems and at some point legitimate mail will be a victim of even the most carefully configured SPAM filters. There is nothing that we can do about that problem. When legitimate providers get caught in the SPAM filters our header tags will tell the provider exactly why their mail is being considered potential SPAM. In most cases reputable providers will try to do something to fix the problem. Sometimes they cannot but there is always a solution.
The more patient you are in generating your initial set of SPAM filters and the more diligent you are at keeping them up to date will provide you with a much cleaner mail system. Our mail systems at LightHouse Hosting use the SPAM header tags extensively and over the course of the last two years with little effort and maintenance we have reduced the amount of SPAM to our companies accounts by over 95%. Now that is not pefect but it represents a tremendous amount of mail

White Lists . Occasionally users may see mail tagged as SPAM but still wish to receive the mail. This mail needs to be white listed by the user so the content filters will be ignored. This page shows how to properly use and configure white lists.
Example Filter 1 . This page describes how you might set up a simple two rule SPAM filter. This is the least complex rule but still very effective at reducing SPAM.
Example Filter 2 . This page describes how you might set up a more complex multi filter rule to further reduce the amount of SPAM received in your mail account.
Trusted Senders . The trusted senders list is a list maintained by the account user and works in conjunction with the white list rule. This is the place where actual email addresses or domain names can be entered which will bypass SPAM filtering.
